Truus Kersten is a GZ-psychologist, supervisor, and training therapist of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapy (VGCt), supervisor of the Association for Schema Therapy (VSt), and trainer/supervisor of the International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST). In addition, she is an EMDR Practitioner, affiliated with the Association EMDR Netherlands (VEN), and a Psychotrauma Therapist, member of the Dutch-speaking Association for Psychotrauma (NtVP). She obtained her doctorate in Social Sciences at Radboud University in Nijmegen in 1998. She works as a self-employed professional in her own training practice, de Akkerdistel, and has a part-time appointment as a psychotherapist in a TBS clinic.
