Lori Herod è unq professoressa in pensione di educazione degli adulti e sopravvissuta a un trauma relazionale con PTSD complesso, o come si riferisce ad esso "Relational Trauma Response" (RTR) perché è meno stigmatizzante e patologizzante.  Lori ha fondato il sito web di informazione online e il forum di supporto/discussione Out of the Storm nel 2014 e da allora è cresciuto fino a oltre 8.000 membri provenienti da 21 paesi fino ad oggi. È anche copresidente del Gruppo di Interesse Speciale (SIG) ISSTS Complex Trauma (CT) ed è coinvolta in una serie di progetti per diffondere informazioni su Complex Trauma, espandere l'adesione del SIG a diversi stakeholder tra cui organizzazioni di sopravvissuti, e favorire una comprensione più sfumata della TC per guidare la ricerca e la pratica.

Lori Herod is a retired professor of adult education and survivor of relational trauma with Complex PTSD, or as she refers to it “Relational Trauma Response” (RTR) because it is less stigmatizing and pathologizing. Lori founded the online information web site and support/discussion forum Out of the Storm in 2014 and since then it has grown to over 8,000 members from 21 countries to date.  She also serves as Co-Chair of the ISSTS Complex Trauma (CT) Special Interest Group (SIG) and is involved in a number of projects to disseminate information about Complex Trauma, expand SIG membership to diverse stakeholders including survivor organizations, and foster  more nuanced understanding of CT to guide research and practice.
