Heather MacIntosh è Prof.ssa Associata e Direttrice del corso MScA Couple and Family Therapy presso la McGill University, dove ha ricevuto il H. Noel Fieldhouse Award per essersi distinta nell’insegnamento. La dottoressa MacIntosh è psicologa clinica e autrice del libro Developmental Couple Therapy for Complex Trauma: a Manual for Therapists della Routledge Press, un manuale che delinea il suo modello di trattamento basato su prove cliniche, delineato per lavorare con coppie che hanno a che fare con l'impatto di traumi complessi. Dirige un programma di ricerca finanziato da SSHRC e FQRSC che esamina l'impatto dei primi traumi sul processo e sul risultato della terapia di coppia, e lo sviluppo e il mantenimento di relazioni adulte sane. Attualmente è ricercatrice principale in un programma finanziato dal governo del Quebec, che fornisce DCTCT in un formato virtuale da utilizzare nel contesto della pandemia di Covid 19.

Heather MacIntosh is Associate Professor and Director of the MScA Couple and Family Therapy Programme at McGill University where she is the recipient of the H. Noel Fieldhouse Award for Distinguished Teaching. Dr. MacIntosh is a clinical psychologist and author of the recently released book: Developmental Couple Therapy for Complex Trauma a Manual for Therapists by Routledge Press, a treatment manual outlining her evidence based treatment model for working with couples dealing with the impacts of complex trauma. She leads an active research programme funded by SSHRC and FQRSC examining the impact of early life trauma on the process and outcome of couple therapy, and the development and maintenance of healthy adult relationships. She is currently principle investigator for a Government of Quebec funded programme providing Developmental Couple Therapy for Complex Trauma in a virtual group couple format for trauma survivors in the context of the Covid 19 pandemic.
